President’s Notes

What an active group we are! Members have registered voters, contacted candidates for Vote411, sent postcards to new voters, promoted renewable energy, worked the polls, reinvigorated the Health Committee—well done, League! Keep up the good work. Thank you for remembering to do all of this in a clearly non-partisan manner.

Every committee can use more help. Reach out to our committee chairs to see how you can help with JUST ONE activity or many. Consider joining the Membership Committee to help engage our entire League. Membership hosts our new member orientations, our holiday bring-a-friend party at the Art Center, as well as our annual meeting in June. Maybe you are just the person to keep track of a few details (and bring the extension cords and the extra cups.)

I hope you were able to attend our Zoom forum on Mis/Disinformation. We’ll have the recording on our website soon. Our next forum is Oct 9 at 5:00 on Election Security with an expert from the MI Dept of State. This will be an in-person/Zoom hybrid at the Petoskey District library. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us on line or in person.
